A brief history of why I make videos

This isn’t specifically about why I let my bedroom be supervised by strangers, but more about my interest in trying to make people smile.
“I don’t want to be famous. I just want a few fans.”

Ever since I was around 8 years old maybe before I loved performing. In your early days when you’re still a kid that’s fear and anxiety that comes along when you grow up isn’t there as a kid and you can be silly and enjoy yourself and it doesn’t matter if you’re really horrible because you’re your own audience

The technology of the time was old fashioned original eight millimeter film it clunked along in a hand round movie camera and it had no sound and if I remember correctly small reels of film were seven minutes before editing about $24 and took more than two weeks to get developed so making a film was done in stages rather than minutes.

He only had 7 minutes to work with him and any editing would come out of that. In my memory I made lots of really cool films but in reality I have a few pictures of my dogs and jumpy pictures of the people that you’ve never really want to look at anymore. The film not the people. I made three films with my friend Jay but unfortunately, it was a smart idea that didn’t work out for us he kept the film and I kept the audio and we never saw each other again. Bummer.

When cameras started being digital, the world changed rather quickly. Free photography probably advanced the world with a much larger impact then we think about because most of the photographers just have cameras 100% of the time and instead of rationing out 2 ore 3 photos a month and getting the prints back for Christmas of all the years events, and everyone had one eye closed.

When shooting video in colour with sound because available, I shot a lot more things. At first, still pics and later, clips of people smiling. I love it. I stopped going on vacations, but I’ll never stop capturing joy and happiness wherever I go.

I am working to get more of my early videos online. I’ve gone through a lot of change and a lot of it was talking to the camera. I bet I have more video of me talking to my camera than Hugh Hefner. He is known for his journals, but they’re probably more interesting than mine.
